 Delay analysis for EOT Claims

Course breif

The course present a simplified explanation of all the analysis methods used for delay analysis and determining the responsibility of each party in the contract practically. We will also cover some theoretical concepts that are essential in job interviews as well as during meetings.

Delay analysis methods have more than one school, and by the end of the course, you will know how to analyze through the SCL (Society of Construction Law), which is the most famous in the Gulf market especially, and the AACE-RP school. The RP study aims to provide a more comprehensive and broader clarification, but in the end, the methods are quite similar in both schools.

Target Audience

  • Planning engineers withat least 5 years of experience in the field of planning and monitoring.
  • The training program is not suitable for contract engineers but for planning specifically.

Requirements to know before starting the course:

  • The trainee should have attempted or participated in at least one or two claims during their professional career for extending project time.
  • The trainee should have sufficient experience working with Primavera software.
  • It’s not a requirement to have sufficient knowledge of contracts.

Skills Acquired by the end of the course:

  • Understanding different analysis methods used in the market through RP.
  • Understanding analysis methods used in the market through SCL.
  • If you were a consulting engineer, you would know how to analyze claims submitted by the contractor.
  • If you work with the contractor, you will know how to prepare a claim and its proper components.
  • Knowing what should be reviewed in the schedule before submitting it as a contractor and after submitting it as a consultant

  2. We’ll elucidate the disparities between Forensic Analysis and Schedule Planning.
  3. Exploring the concept of fragnet and its correct application in analysis will be a focal point.
  4. You’ll be acquainted with the three fundamental steps in studying any delay.
  5. Varieties of delays and their classifications will be thoroughly explained.
  6. A comprehensive understanding of concurrent delays and practical calculation methods will be provided.
  7. You’ll gain insight into different types of concurrent delays and the circumstances under which the contractor is compensated.
  8. We’ll guide you through the life cycle of an Extension of Time claim.
  9. Three distinct schedule types essential for delay analysis will be introduced.
  10. Simplified explanations of TIA (Time Impact Analysis) and window analysis will be provided.
  11. We’ll clarify the concept of AACE RP and highlight the variances between SCL and RP methodologies for delay analysis.
  12. Familiarize yourself with the 9+1 methods of delay analysis and the criteria for selecting each method.
  13. Understanding the preferred method for analysis and the rationale behind it will be emphasized.
  14. Step-by-step instructions for drafting a claim will be provided.
  15. Guidance on reviewing and analyzing a submitted claim will be offered.
  16. Differentiating between Modelled and Observational methods of analysis will be elucidated.
